Physical Education

The mission of school physical education programs is to provide students with opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge, motivation, and behaviors that promote highest student achievement and a lifelong commitment to wellness centered around a physically active and healthy lifestyle.

Courses

Basketball - This course provides students opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in basketball and enhance health-related fitness.

Personal Fitness - This course provides students with opportunities to develop an individual optimal level of health-related fitness, acquire knowledge of physical fitness concepts, and acquire knowledge of the significance of lifestyle on one's health and fitness.

Team Sports I - This course provides opportunities to acquire knowledge of team sports play, develop skills in selected team sports, and enhance health-related fitness. Team sports selected may include basketball, flag football, flickerball, gatorball, soccer, softball, speedball, field hockey, angle ball, and volleyball.

Team Sports II - This course provides opportunities to acquire knowledge of team sports play, develop skills in selected team sports, and enhance health-related fitness. Team sports selected may include basketball, flag football, flickerball, gatorball, soccer, softball, speedball, field hockey, angle ball, and volleyball.

Tennis - This course provides opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in tennis and enhance health-related fitness.

Volleyball - This course provides opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in volleyball and enhance health-related fitness.

Weightlifting - This course provides opportunities to acquire basic knowledge and skills in weight training, improve muscular strength and endurance, and enhance body image.
